Oxytocin 2mg

Oxytocin, sometimes known as Oxt, is a neurophypopysial peptide that consists of nine amino acids.  It has a molecular formula of C43H66N12O12S2, and it has a molecular mass of 1007.19.

Oxytocin in Brief

Scientific study based on animal test subjects has determined that Oxytocin is produced by the hypothalamus and is stored and secreted by the posterior pituitary gland.  The peptide is processed as a non-active precursor protein from the OXT gene, and it has been further determined that the protein gradually gets progressively hydrolyzed into smaller sections via a series of enzymes.

It has also been determined that Oxytocin is expressed into the bloodstream through the pituitary gland’s axon terminals that are responsible for the regulation of behaviors such as reward, fear, and reinforcement.  As such, it has been hypothesized that behavioral brain effects occur through the release of these axons.  It has also been determined that Oxytocin receptors are expressed through different parts of the brain and spinal cord.

Furthermore, it has been determined that the peptide cannot re-enter the brain after it has been expressed.  Because of this, it has been determined that the actual behavioral effects linked to the presence of Oxytocin are tied to a release from centrally projecting oxytocin neurons that differ from those that project to the pituitary gland.

Because of this process, scientific studies based on animal test subjects has determined that Oxytocin has been linked to a host of complex bodily functions that are not necessarily linked to arousal or emotional responses, such as the letdown reflex associated with lactation in female animal test subjects or attachment behaviors such as bonding.

Set Aside for Scientific Research

It should be noted that despite the extensive amount of research and study that has been conducted in relation to Oxytocin, it is only intended for the sole use of scientific study at this time.  Any findings that can be linked to the peptide’s overall functionality or mechanics should exclusively be contained to a strictly controlled environment such as a laboratory or a medical research facility.
